You Are Your Responsibility
Once upon a time, you were far too young to take care of yourself, and that made you someone else’s responsibility.
As a small human, you had the power to march into the kitchen, announce your hunger, and someone would be there to tend to your needs.
“𝘐’𝘮 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘺! 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥!” You demand.
“𝘖𝘬𝘢𝘺, 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘵?” They respond, ready to make whatever your little heart desires.
But today, things are different.
You can’t walk into the kitchen and ask someone to cook for you because frankly, you’re not someone else’s responsibility anymore.
You’re adult now, not a child.
No one is coming to take care of you. And to put that expectation on others is completely unfair and, well...immature.
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. It is 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 job to take care of your needs, and you gotta learn how to tend to those needs, honey.
No more bitching and whining about how you don’t know how to cook—teach yourself. It’s 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 not that hard. Google it. Watch YouTube tutorials. Have fun with it, and take a cooking class.

You don’t need to know how to make a gourmet dish, but being able to cook yourself some basics, like scrambled eggs, is kinda important.
I’m all for channeling your inner child, but there are aspects to adulting we need to learn to survive and thrive. So learn how to cook yourself some damn food, alright? Alright.
