Journal Exercise for Quarantine

Feeling out of control? Try this journaling exercise (👇📝).

As uncertainty and unpredictability continues to surround us, it adds to the already overwhelming amount of stress. And as it does, it brings up feelings of hopelessness, powerlessness, helplessness. You’re feeling completely out of control and it’s causing you to go crazy, am I right?

To help you navigate these emotional challenges with a bit more ease, I’d love to offer the same journaling prompts I gave my clients this week.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭 #𝟏:
What do I have control over? What can I control?

Really dig into this one.

Unfortunately, fortunately, the only thing in life you ever have control over is how you respond, how you react, and how you relate to a problem. So ask yourself:

How am I responding to this? How am I relating to this? Is it helpful? And if it’s not, how can I adjust so it is?

How can I show up for myself? What would be supportive? What behaviors can I focus on?

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭 #𝟐:

What opportunities does this give me? What am I learning about myself? How are these challenges supporting my expansion, my growth?

Examples:

If you have more time available to you, what does that offer you? More time for habit building? Reading? Learning? Creating? Self-Caring? Napping? Resting?

Is it challenging you to be creative? To be more adaptable? To slow down? To rest more? To be okay with doing nothing? To be okay with being uncomfortable?

Is it showing you parts of yourself that need tended to, that need healing, that need love?

Give these prompts a go today.
