Self-Love is Hard and Here's Why

Self love isn’t a simplistic process—it’s complex, sometimes ugly, and sometimes uncomfortably heavy.

It’s diving into the depths of the very things you suppress, avoid, and numb; the darker parts you’ve been afraid to bring to the surface.

The trauma.
The insecurities.
The fears.
The abuse.
The behaviors.
The identities.

It’s diving inward and journeying through the discomfort of your deepest pain.

You’re uncovering and digging to the root of why you feel the way you do, where it comes from, and then working through it. It’s the processing of the pain you’ve perpetually ran away from.

Unpacking baggage that’s weighing you down—the stuff you’ve been holding onto throughout the majority of your existence. Unlearning beliefs that were projected onto to you.

And learning to...
Forgive yourself.
Show up for yourself with compassion and kindness.
Embrace who you are, as you are, in every moment.
Accept the parts of you that you’ve perceived as unworthy.

It’s a practice and it’s a never-ending process. And it’s not as easy, but it’s so worth it because YOU are so worth it.

To those on this journey of liberation—the ones facing their fears, their shadows, their hurt; the ones bringing awareness to their maladaptive ways and altering the course; the ones doing the deep internal work that many turn from—I see you. I’m proud of you. Keep going. You’re a courageous spirit, and you’ve got this.
